Nigerian Cabbage salad Recipe

Cabbage salad simple means Coleslaw. It is a blend of finely shredded carrots, Cabbages, green peas, bell pepper etc which is been dressed with Salad cream and mayonnaise, it can also be eaten on its own.

Coleslaw is mostly eaten as a side to foods like grilled chicken, Jollof rice, fried rice etc

It is usually served chilled allowing the dressing settle into the vegetables.

This  is a  quick and easy recipe that takes just 10 minutes to prepare depending on how fast you are in making the coleslaw.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 2 small bell pepper
  • ¼ tin of green peas
  • 3 Small carrots
  • 1 medium onion
  • 6 tablespoons of salad cream of your choice
  • 4½ tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • A pinch of salt

PREPARATION

First wash all your vegetables

Cut your cabbage,  bell pepper and onions into  tiny pieces.

Scrape your carrots so as to remove the dirt on it, shred it using a grater then use a knife to cut  the shredded carrots even smaller.

Add your green pepper, peas, onions, cabbage and carrots into a large bowl and stir very well till you get a Good mix

Bring another small bowl , mix your mayonnaise, salad cream, sugar and salt together.

Add your cream mix into the bowl of vegetables and stir very well till everything is completely combined.

You are allowed to add a pinch of ground pepper if you  like it spicy

Allow to Chill In the freezer for some time  and serve.
